Filling Fall Fling
A BIG thank you to all who came out (and logged on) to support the wildly successful, 2016 Filling Fall Fling!
All the favorites were enjoyed, like hot chicken sandwiches and brats, the silent and live auctions, and the Happy Times Polka Band! While we missed having Kathy there to serve up her coffee, she was definitely there in spirit, and Soaring Arts Studio wowed the crowd with some great new merchandise.
The Tin Can raffle was back and so was the more recently added Grand Raffle. Three lucky people walked away with some great prizes. Maggie Prigge won the first prize of a quarter of beef with processing; Norma Nagel came in second winning the comfy recliner from Ken’s Furniture; and Jody Dille won a great third prize--$300 cash!
Altogether new to the Filling Fall Fling this year was the Online Art Auction. The idea for this auction precipitated from a beautiful quandary…what to do with a generous donation of valuable artwork by Ray and Marie Cox! Combining these items with the exquisite hand carved birds donated by Glenn and Pat Alexander and putting it online so many people from all over could place bids, turned out to be a fun and successful addition to the event.
Just goes to show that the Women’s Guild of Filling Homes is a strong, creative force with one goal in mind—to provide for the needs of the residents and clients of Filling Homes and anything is possible!
The 12th Annual Filling Fall Fling raised more than $18,000! This could never have been accomplished without all of you who donated to our auctions; who contributed time, talent and treasure to pull the event together; and of course, who supported the Fling with your attendance and participation! A new van is within reach because of all of you, and we are very thankful!
